Recovery Book Review: Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents

During the COVID lock-downs I've done some recovery reading. My current book is Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents by Lindsay Gibson (New Harbinger Publications, 2015). There is no financial interest in this book review. The book's title attracted me because it's exactly on-theme for my recovery goals. The book's early chapters -- which I think of as "The Problem" chapters -- focused on the immature parents. Here the author presents an often-harsh, frequently "other-izing" view. I expect that I looked at my parents that way before I had adult children of my own.
